#caribbeanpirates Chat room Rules

Fri Jul 28, 2006, 9:17 PM
*Chat Rules*

- #caribbeanpirates is an english only channel -

:star: Thumbing:

:pointr: To Blacksmiths: You cannot post a thumb to your artwork, and no linking too
To Pirates: can do ONE only, but this is every 5 minutes aswell. If you have a problem with this, go to #thumbshare instead. You will be warned when spamming thumbs, or kicked.
(Crew may do 2)

:star: Promotions:
You get promoted from a Blacksmith, to a Pirate, ONLY if you dont ask. Please dont say "I need a promotion" or say something like "Why am I still a blacksmith!!!!".
There's probably a reason why you're still a blacksmith, some of these reasons could be:
# You havent been coming into #caribbeanpirates enough

# You havent properly gone by the rules aka, breaking rules continually.

# Being rude to the captain and crew never gets you anywhere

# Asking for promotions

# Asking why someone is in TheBrig (banned)/kicked, or telling the captain and crew how to do their job.

Etc. You should know what's right and what's wrong when it comes to promotions. Just behave yourself and play nicely, you'll be promoted soon enough!

1. Misbehaving or abusing deviants. If you have misbehaved in anyway, you will be put in TheBrig (banned) for 24 hours. And if your bad behaviour is continued, the Brig stay (ban) can last up to more than a week.

2. The llama emoticon. Please do not post the llama. It is a very big emote, and is classified as spam. You will get only one warning before a kick.

3. Word Stretching, Emoticon & Caps Abuse. People find it very annoying if you stretch or do mass caps etc. To avoid any arguments, please do not use too many emoticons, caps, and no stretching. If you pursue to break this rule, you will have a 24 hr ban. I would just like to point out, that "Hii" is not stretching.
This policy applies for EVERYONE, the captain and crew must be fair, and not favouring friends over guests. It is unfair, and very unwelcoming for guests.

4. Emails. Please don't share your msn, email, yahoo, etc with anyone in my chat, for privacy reasons. It is better to /note the person, and saves you the worry of others adding you or, you can always check their userpage to find the email address.

5. Spamming your own channel/other channels. It is really rude to say "come to my channel #(insertchannelhere)!!!!" It's not fair to me, and I dont want pressure on any members in my channel to go to yours.

6. Violating deviantART policies: #caribbeanpirates chat does not tolerate remarks that are in any form of bigotry. These include but are not limited to;

# Racist Slurs

# Anti-Semitic or other derogatory remarks about philosophies and religions.

# Offensive remarks based on gender or sexual preference.

* The use of emoticons for the sole intent of flaming, or insulting, another deviant is not tolerated.

* Personal, or private, issues between two or more deviants are to remain private. The insistence on making such matters public may result in closed forum threads and policy warnings. If the nature of the problem involves deviantART itself, you may ask one of the Policy Violation Administrators to mediate the situation to an acceptable resolution.

* Violations are defined as specific attacks on an individual deviant or group. Violation of community ettiquite policy will result in a warning, sent via the deviantART notes system. Administration will take further steps, including banning an account, as situation deems necessary.

* Accusations of bannable offenses, questions or comments regarding specific administrative actions, and copyright violation reports are always to be addressed to the Policy Violation Administrators, and not directed at a particular deviant. Misplaced or false accusations may be considered violations of site policy. Reports regarding deviation miscategorization should be directed towards the appropriate Tier Administrator.

7. ASL. You may ask ASL in my chat. Just dont ask too many personal questions about the location.

8. Personal Issues. Please don't bring personal issues to chat, as a venting place, such as being angry about something. It's not nice to take it out on others, and it disrupts chatters. If you are feeling angry/sad etc, you should not be in dAmn. :)

9. Promoting of your work. This is something that is commonly misinterpreted. When I say thumbing is perfectly fine - I mean that you can thumb if you go by the limit. Look up the top of the rules to see what you're allowed to do. Also, something such as "Omg go to my art site right now!!" or posting a link to your own site is not tolerated thanks. Let people visit your userpage in their own time.
If you break this rule you'll be kicked or banned ;)

10. Idling. Guests can only idle up to ONE hour, in my channel. Members can idle as long as they wish. All staff are permitted to idle in #caribbeanpirates. Any complaints should be told to =nethlegolas.
We suggest you /setaway "reason", if you are away. If you talk alot while you are away, then you will be warned before kicked. You'll need dAmn.extend to setaway.

11. Bashing channels or new deviants. We dont permit this in #caribbeanpirates. If there is someone new in the channel, welcome them or help them if they need it.

12. Sexual related themes.
Taken from dAmn rules: Sexual Themes: We do not allow deviations of an explicit sexual nature on deviantART, and so we do not allow rooms that are for the discussion of explicit sexual topics. The use of rooms for "cybersex", or the acting out of sexual situations, is also not allowed.

13. Role playing game aka RPG.
We do not permit RPG in #caribbeanpirates. The /me command should NOT be abused with role playing and making people feel uncomfortable.
From $chix0r's journal:
"There is a huge difference in talking about any particular topic, and creating a channel specifically intended to promote, encourage, and act out situations of a sexual theme. Call it cybersex, sex chat, or whatever the hell you like. Fact is that we will not allow any channels to be created and used for this purpose, regardless of your colour, creed, beliefs, gender, species and colour of furry suit that you choose to wear whilst doing so."

14. Following channel rules. If you have a problem with the rules, that's not our problem. We want to keep #caribbeanpirates free from rule-breakers as much as possible. We're a very friendly chat, so please follow the rules!
